Helen Wrenfield
Helen Wrenfield is the pen name of the ReadBorn team, the people who build the ReadBorn phonics app. A K-1 teacher worked on the app with the team. Every guide and blog post on readborn.com is published under this name.
One name for the whole team
Helen Wrenfield is not one person. It is the name the ReadBorn team writes under, so every guide has one voice, and one page that says plainly who is behind it.
The team is the people who build the ReadBorn app: its lessons, its films, its books and this website. A K-1 teacher worked on the app with the team.
How the writing is checked
Drafts get help from writing software, including AI tools. A person on the team edits and approves every post, and the app's catalog numbers are checked against the app itself when the site is built. The editorial standards explain the whole process, and how to tell us when something is wrong.

ReadBorn is an iPhone and iPad app that teaches children to read by phonics for ages 3 to 8 and up. The child sounds words out loud, the app listens with Apple's speech recognition and helps only when they get stuck, and it hatches a baby animal for every class the child finishes.
